The Hughes family gathered in Le Mars, Iowa, for Christmas, using the motel meeting room as our "living room."

In a world so broken by conflict, we pray for peace, and give thanks for the only blessing that penetrates and endures - the love of family. Merry Christmas.

 

About a week later we celebrated the life of our beloved John Patrick Hughes, who passed away on Sunday, December 26, 2004 after a long battle with cancer. Funeral mass was celebrated in St. James Catholic Church, in Le Mars, Iowa. Also shown below is John's mother, Marie, together with Marie's sister, Rose Tiedje.
